As the association has evolved, it has formed committees that: • keep Old Girls connected through alumnae email, e-letters, class websites and the directory; • share inspiring ideas and helpful information through the Chronicle ; • bring Old Girls together for reunion celebrations and special events such as the Stoneagers and Cinquantenaires Luncheons; • encourage continuing education and lifelong learning through mentorship programs for Old Girls and current students and through activities like Breakfast and Learn meetings; • help Old Girls forge bonds with students at the Junior and Upper Schools through participation in the school program, in and beyond the classroom; and • provide sound governance and encourage philanthropy. Writing in the 2006 Chronicle , Dr. Ditchburn made clear the pleasure she took from spending time with Old Girls: [R]eunions, the annual cocktail party, Celebration Day all give me insight into the deep ties forged in friendship and shared experience at Havergal. What a privilege and what a lasting joy these ties appear to be! The stories, the laughter, the memories evoke images of the maypole conclusion to Candlelight as the unbroken, enduring cord is extended year by year, a tangible symbol of the ties that bind.

Twenty years later, in 2014, the Chronicle celebrated its 100th birthday, and its readers were reminded of its proud history and all that it continues to offer. Nothing reveals more clearly the tremendous impact of Old Girls than its magazine, the Chronicle . Its history is important for what it reveals about the adult lives of Havergal students making a difference through their chosen pursuits.
