CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES

School Prefects These Grade 12 leaders are elected by the students, faculty and staff in the Upper School to serve the school through their assigned portfolios: Arts, Sports, Student, Social, Prayers, Admissions, Clubs & Spirit, Junior School, Middle School, Wellbeing, Forum for Change and Boarding. Prefects set the tone for the year with an annual theme, cheer and other initiatives, as well as lead a variety of councils and projects related to their portfolios throughout the year, including: Spirit Week, Earth Week, Arts Week initiatives and more. Prefect Councils School Councils are made up of groups of students from Grades 9 to 12 who are committed to representing and leading their fellow students. There are several councils: Junior School Council, Middle School Council, Senior School Student Council, Prayers Council, Wellbeing Council, Sports Council, Arts Council, Sustainability Council (Forum for Change) and Boarding Council. School Prefects generally coordinate the different councils. Some councils are elected and others are application-based. Senior Year Presidents These Grade 12 leaders are elected by the peers in their grade. They plan events and encourage collaboration among our Grads throughout their final year at Havergal. This group of leaders organizes events such as the Senior Year Workshop, Halloween Assembly, Prom and the Grad Gift Campaign. Affinity/Alliance Heads Affinity and Alliance groups are led by student leaders who demonstrate a keen interest in creating spaces that promote inclusion and compassion. They work with the faculty/staff mentors and are responsible for programming for the Affinity/Alliance group. ClubHeads These Senior School student leaders are elected or appointed to lead an organized club at the school. They are responsible for the programming, attendance and budget of their club. Community Partnership Heads These Senior School student leaders are elected or appointed to lead one of the school’s community-based groups. They are responsible for supporting the programming of the school’s Community Partnerships to ensure students are accountable, responsible and knowledgeable as they work in partnership with our community partners. Student Grade Representatives Each grade elects three students as Grade Reps, who are committed to leading their fellow classmates. They will meet regularly with the Faculty Grade Lead and share ideas and perspectives
