Family Handbook 2019-20
Upper School Lockers Havergal lockers are the property of Havergal College. Students are issued a locker for use throughout the school year. Students must use the locker assigned to them and they may not use more than one Havergal locker. They are expected to keep all of their books, school supplies and personal items locked in the locker when not in use. This prevents loss and possible theft. Three scheduled locker cleanouts occur in a school year. Prior to Christmas vacation and March Break, students must tidy their lockers and take home Physical Education and other clothing for cleaning and discard any food or garbage. Prior to final exams, students must empty their lockers and take home all belongings. Any locker that is defaced will be cleaned or repaired and the cost will be charged to the student’s account. Locks Upper School students provide their own combination locks. Extra-strong, hardened-steel locks are not permitted because Security cannot remove these kinds of locks with bolt-cutters when required. The cost of a lock that needs to be replaced is assumed by the student. Lost and Found (JK–Grade 6) Items found in the school are stored in the gymnasium. Three times a year (late fall, late winter, late spring) these items are placed on display outside the Gymnasium for students and parents to retrieve lost items. Parents are always welcome to look through the lost and found storage. Items of significant value are stored in the Junior School Office. The Pound - Lost and Found (Grade 7–12) The Upper School lost and found is affectionately called, The Pound. It is located at the west end of Level B near the Green & Gold Shop. Valuables such as swipe cards, watches, calculators and glasses are handed into and kept at the Security Desk or the Day School Office (DSO). Any other items left in the school will be collected by teachers and the cleaning staff and placed in one of the boxes at The Pound.
Lost & Found items are also stored in a bin, which is located in the Upper School Athletic Centre.
