In order  to  reinforce  teaching good nutri on and  to ensure  that  children maintain a high energy  level  throughout  the day,  candy and  so  drinks are not permi ed  in  school. A high‐energy  snack  such as  fruit,  cheese,  crackers,  yogurt and granola bars may be brought  from home  to be eaten at  recess. Students are not  to bring  in any  food  containing peanuts or  tree nuts. Kindergarten  children are provided with a  snack at morning  recess.  The  Junior School does provide a hot  lunch op on  through  the Rose Reisman Catering Online  ordering  is accessible  to all parents.  Informa on  can be  found on  the Back  to School website:  www.havergal.on.ca/backtoschool Birthdays and  Invita ons   We  realize  that  it  is not generally possible  to  send  seasonal gree ngs and  invita ons  to every  child  in a  class. Children are, however,  very  sensi ve;  feelings  can be easily hurt  in  these early  years.  Invita ons and  cards  should not be brought  to  school  for delivery unless  the whole  class  is  included. Treats  (e.g.,  cupcakes,  cookies, donuts) and/or  loot bags may not be brought  in  to  celebrate birthdays.   Class Excursions  Educa onal ou ngs are arranged  for each  class  throughout  the  school  year. Parents  sign an  Acknowledgement and Assump on of Risk  form allowing  their daughters  to go on  class ou ngs.  Students who have not  returned  the  form will not be allowed  to go on  the  class excursion. Parent  volunteers  frequently provide addi onal  supervision on  such occasions. Those parents  should  refer  to  the Guidelines  for Adults Accompanying School Excursions  (below).  Guidelines  for Adults Accompanying School Excursions  The  following guidelines have been developed  in order  to ensure  that  the excursion  is  safe and  rewarding  for both  students and adults.  If, a er  reading  them,  you have ques ons,  the  teacher  in  charge will be pleased  to answer  them. Parent par cipa on and assistance are  sincerely  appreciated. Please note  that each excursion  is unique and  the number of parents needed  to  a end will  vary. Generally, as  the  children get older,  fewer parents are  required.  ● The  teacher  in  charge  should  inform  you  fully about  the  i nerary  to be  followed. The  teacher will also have a  cellphone and First Aid Kit.
