3. Doors will  close by 9 pm and any promo onal material,  including  ckets, must  indicate  clearly  the  me  the doors will  close.   4. Those who  leave  the building  in which  the dance  is held may not  re‐enter  (school grounds  are  considered part of  the building).  5. Every COSSOT  school has a  strict policy  that no drugs or alcohol may be brought  into  the  school and must observe  the provincial  law  that  there will be no  smoking  in any public  place.  6. Entry may be  subject  to a  search of person and belongings. And  contraband will be  confiscated. All bags, purses and  coats are  to be handed  in at  the  coat  check.  7. Appropriate dress must be worn.  If a  student’s  clothing  is deemed  to be  inappropriate by  the host  school, he or  she will be asked  to  cover up or  leave.  8. The host  school must provide adequate  security and  faculty  supervision.  The  following are addi onal expecta ons  for dances hosted at Havergal College:  1. Students must enter  through  the main entrance  (the Rotunda).  2. Students are not permi ed  to wander  throughout  the  school building. This  includes being  restricted  from going  to  their  lockers  (barriers are  set up  to  restrict access).  3. Refreshments  for  students are  limited  to  the Rotunda and/or  the Brenda Robson Hall.  4. Students are  responsible  for  their  registered guest.   Role  for Parents  Parents, along with  students, have a  shared  role and  responsibility  in  crea ng a  safe and  enjoyable dance  for everyone. Havergal College  requires parental  coopera on and  support, both  in  terms of  suppor ng  the above protocol but also  in  supervision of pre‐dance and post‐dance  ac vi es as well as  transporta on arrangements.   1. Parents  should  contact  the host  family when  their daughter  is a ending a pre‐dance or  post‐dance ac vity and be  knowledgeable about  the nature and  supervision of  the  ac vity.  2. If a parent  is not driving his/her daughter  to and  from  the dance, parents  should be aware  of  the  transporta on arrangements as well as an cipated departure  me  from  the dance.   3. There are  serious  consequences  if  students are  found  to be  smoking or under  the  influence of drugs or alcohol at any  school dance or on  school property.  If a  student  is  behaving  inappropriately and  is either  refused entry or asked  to  leave a dance, an adult  will  supervise  the  student  in a  safe place. The  student’s parent/guardian or,  if necessary, a  school administrator will be  contacted  to a end and pick up  the  student. Disciplinary  ac ons may  follow.
