CLASS OF 1974 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REPS: Jennifer Carter and Catherine (Cathy) Robinson Clark Candace Jones Fraser and Don, her pairskating partner, celebrated their 37th anniversary. She is a family physician inVermont, teaches in themedical school andplans to retire soon. They are building a summer home near Kingston, Ontario. They have two sons–Jesse is married and has two little girls and Mathew is a professional athlete...the two-time and reigning World Champion of CrossFit. Evelyn Bogdanovich-Baron is currently writing a book of articles about the late Tom Petty`s videos and the interpretation of his lyrics. Jane Pickup Newlands has a private psychotherapy practice in Oakville.She married John Philp in August at a small family gathering including her three daughters and his three sons. She has four grandkids. Alwyn Robertson moved from her Forest Hill condo into an apartment at Yonge and St. Clair. She enjoyed a cruise from Montreal to Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland. She volunteers with the Canadian Bankers Association. Liz Saunders moved into a new condo this year. She keeps in regular contact with Gillian O’Reilly and Jeanne Shemilt Krent . She also met with Lynn Wright McAllister at the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Festival in July. Jennifer Carter , as president and CEO of Hermès Canada, celebrated a grand opening at 100 Bloor Street which was followed by a fabulous party at the Brickworks with live performances by Majid Jordan and Drake. Lorina Batherson Stephens ’ publishing house, Five Rivers Publishing, had a novel long-listed for the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour in 2017. The novel is A Town Called Forget , by C.P. Hoff.

Carla Hayes travelled to Sri Lanka, seeing Jungle Beach, Adam’s Peak and Colombo. On her return,she fractured her kneecap and was sofa-ridden for three months. She hiked part of the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. She spent Thanksgiving with her daughter Whitney, followed by Christmas with her daughter and son Logan. Kathy Vernon Martin welcomed her first grandchild, Elsie May Martin.This summer, she and Bob will be cruising from northern Scotland, by the Faroe Islands to Iceland. Gillian O’Reilly and Tony are planning a month-long drive to the Yukon this summer. This will allow them to camp in style. Nancy Keddy McGinnis and her husband are coming up on their 25thanniversary this fall. They have a 20-year old son Aidan, who is studying science at Duke University. Kelly Scott continues working and has three grandkids. She is planning a March break trip to Martinique and also plans to spend time with Alannah, Karl and the grandkids out East this summer. Alice Chan and her husband Dr Chen Fong have been very active at the University of Calgary. Alice formed a mentorship program at the university,pairing students with community members. Her husband has received the Order of Canada for innovation and investment in medical devices at the University of Calgaryand for founding the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. They have helped raise substantial funds for health-care facilities and programs and student awards.
