Restrictions on Cannabis Policy , Harassment Policy , Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement - Upper School and Media Consent Policy . These policies, procedures and expectations underpin all aspects of the Boarding Program. Boarding Program Activities Permission Policy Boarding families are sent a link to the Boarding Program’s Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk (AAR) permission form for Boarding Program Excursions through Havergal College’s Veracross System in August. This form allows Boarders to participate in all Boarding Program excursions with fees up to $200 per event throughout the year. If any excursions exceed a fee of $200, you will be sent a separate AAR form for the specific event for your approval, as parents/guardians are the only persons who may approve such excursions. These charges will appear in your monthly invoice from Havergal College. Day School Excursions Permission Policy You will be sent a link to the school’s Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk (AAR) Permission form for each Day School related excursion in which your child wishes to participate through Havergal College’s Veracross System throughout the year. If you are unable to approve the form electronically, the Head of Boarding may do so on your behalf (at the request of the Day School) for excursions with fees up to $200. If any excursions exceed a fee of $200, parents/guardians are the ONLY persons who may approve such excursions. These charges will appear in your monthly invoice from Havergal College. Each family living outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) must identify a local guardian (in the GTA) who will act on your behalf in the case of health or disciplinary issues and to serve as a host family if required. If your child is not staying in Boarding or returning home during school holidays or long weekends, they may stay with their local guardian. It is very important for you and the guardian(s) to understand the responsibilities of the guardian that you have named. Guardian responsibilities include: ● to act on behalf of parents in the event of an emergency or illness when, for example, quarantine is required or the Health Centre is closed; ● to host your child on occasional weekends and holidays or in the event of an unexpected school closing (at the discretion of the Head of Boarding, Associate Head of School or Principal); ● to make decisions pertaining to overnight invitations and co-curricular activities; and
