Emma’s experience at Havergal is unique as she started in Grade 7 as a Day School student and graduated as a Boarding School student. When her family moved out of the country before she started Grade 8, Emma eagerly waited three years to return to Havergal in the Boarding School. Rejoining the community in Grade 11, she made the most of her two years in the Senior School by being involved in different areas of school life, including participating in the Debate team, volunteering with the school’s Grenoble community partnership, working on the school newspaper Behind the Ivy and representing the Boarding School as Head Junior Don in her graduating year. “As Head Junior Don, I planned events and experiences for the Boarders. I liked having the opportunity to give back to the Boarding community; we were family,” she says. Emma was inspired to pursue a degree in commerce through McGill University’s Management program by the strong women in her family, who have succeeded in leadership positions in their careers for generations. Her life goal is to do as much good as she can in the world.

At Havergal College, we offer our students the opportunity to excel in academics, arts, athletics and leadership. When you look at the 111 students in the 2019 graduating class, it is clear that these future leaders have the tools they need to succeed, whatever their passions. They have earned scholarships, created dynamic visionary projects, led their teams to victory and transformed the Havergal experience into unique versions of excellence.
