About the Forum for Change
The Forum for Change (F4C) is the global heartbeat of Havergal College, serving as the hub for global learning, community partnerships and social innovation. Through its programming, F4C supports students in engaging in meaningful, experiential learning that connects classroom knowledge with real-world contexts. Grounded in a learning-service philosophy, students are encouraged to take thoughtful, informed action while developing a strong sense of identity, purpose and global responsibility.
Through F4C programming, students explore and practise Havergal’s Global Competencies:
● Understanding and Investigating the World Broadly ● Appreciating Perspectives Openly ● Communicating Across Differences with Humility ● Taking Action Ethically ● Navigating the World Effectively
At its core, F4C is guided by a commitment to perspective-seeking — building students’ capacity to understand others in order to broaden their own worldview. This is realized through both local community engagement and global learning opportunities , each offering distinct and complementary pathways for student growth.
Community Engagement
Community Partnerships are a central part of the learning experience at Havergal College. Through the Forum for Change, students engage in meaningful, real-world learning by connecting with local organizations that work to support and strengthen their communities. Through these experiences, we provide students with opportunities to engage in reciprocal connections that foster cultural understanding, empathy and collaboration. By participating in our programs, students develop the essential mindsets in real and engaging ways. The Forum for Change works closely with our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Team to ensure students are equipped with the skills and dispositions needed to enter new communities with respect and openness. Through intentional preparation and reflection, students are encouraged to approach each experience with cultural humility, curiosity and a willingness to learn from perspectives different from their own.
