Family Handbook 2026-27
SECURITY
Transportation
The school has specific requirements regarding transportation involving student drivers and passengers. For each excursion, College Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk Forms are used to outline school sanctioned events while allowing parents to provide permission for a given activity.
If the transportation is provided by Havergal — students are not permitted to drive themselves or fellow students to school-sanctioned events without the expressed written consent of all parents.
Havergal does not track or keep records of students who have obtained a driver’s license, nor does the school keep records of those parents who allow their daughters to travel as passengers in cars with other Havergal student drivers. The Transportation Policy provides a complete outline regarding our expectations for transportation to and from College and College-related events as well as the use of bicycles, scooters, ebikes and contracted transportation. The Transportation Policy can be found on the Parent Portal.
Student Parking
Students are not permitted to park in any of the school parking lots. The school has limited parking and is not able to provide parking to students. Non-compliance with this expectation may result in disciplinary action.
Swipe Cards
All Upper School students are issued a multipurpose security swipe card with photo ID. Swipe cards issued in previous years are still valid for the current year. All students are responsible for their cards and must have their cards available at all times. Students are to use their swipe card to: ● gain access to the school at their secure grade-designated entrance door; ● borrow books and other materials from the Reta Weston Library Resource Centre; and ● make purchases in the Hawkins Dining Room and the Green & Gold Shop.
