HC-X Micro-Credentials (Grades 9 to 12): ​ Learning Experience Opportunities

What Are HC-X Micro-credentials? HC-X Micro-credentials are future-ready learning experiences provided by the HC-X Innovation Hub, working in partnership with experts in established and emerging fields of work, such as Law, Medicine, Finance and AI. These experiences are dynamic, flexible and verifiable through a digital credential granted upon successful completion. They are discrete, contained learning experiences that take less than 20 hours to complete, delivered with in-person and virtual components. The credential is granted through a digital wallet and is stored on the blockchain. Havergal believes digital micro-credentials allow our students to join leading secondary and post-secondary educational institutions that are providing students with verifiable, mobile and valuable assets of identity and learning that will distinguish and serve them now and into the future. Benefits of an HC-X Micro-credential: ✓ ​ Learn from experts: We are partnering with Harvard Student Agencies, Inspirit AI — who bring MIT and Stanford Instructors — as well as Havergal Old Girls/Alums and other community members and organizations who are working and leading in these spaces. ✓ ​ Gain experience: Learn about things you don’t know about but might love — with little risk and just a little bit of your time — and build networks while you are at it. ✓ ​ Show your interests, passions and experiences: HC-X Micro-credentials are shareable on socials, like LinkedIn, and are verifiable on Blockchain. ✓ ​ Deepen and extend learning beyond your classes, co-curriculars and current interests. The Student Experience of Micro-credentials Students learn both synchronously and asynchronously from experts in the designated field. Participants should be ready to develop and apply executive functioning skills (scheduling, time management, initiation) and critical thinking skills because of the more independent, hands-on and practical learning experiences involved. HC-X supports students through their registration and payment, as well as the creation of the learning schedule with our partners.
