been through the development of worksheets and the sharing of learning strategies, which they have come to find useful and effective. Their partners in India, in return, share their own ideas and feedback to ensure the partnership remains one of reciprocity and care. Water First (Bi-weekly) Sustainable access to safe, clean water in Indigenous communities continues to be a pressing issue in Canada. Nobody understands the evolving challenges and needs more than the people who live there. Drinking water challenges are complex: in some communities, local concerns may be around infrastructure, for others, source water contamination. Infrastructure and technology alone cannot solve the water crisis; having enough skilled people to operate and maintain the systems is also critical. Safe water needs skilled people. Water First is guided by the Indigenous youth and young adults who participate in our programs. Students at HC raise awareness of the issues through activities and announcements and will create opportunities for others to participate in order to support the Indigenous communities that need better access to clean water. New Circles builds connections and caring communities by promoting equity and dignity by providing services and clothing to those in their community. Havergal students will have the opportunity to partner with New Circles on various community initiatives throughout the year. Our big New Circles initiative is Holiday Angels during November and December. Youth Without Shelter (Occasional and Drive-Oriented) YWS is a charity offering shelter and support for youth facing homelessness in the GTA. Since 1986, when a group of teachers came together to create a safe place for youth after seeing the need within their classrooms, YWS have been providing client-focused services in a non-judgmental environment for youth aged 16 to 24. Havergal largely supports YWS through various fundraising opportunities and student-led collection drives of needed items. North York Harvest Food Bank (Occasional and Drive-oriented) North York Harvest Food Bank (NYHFB) supports food security with local residents and families. They serve the local area in supplying healthy and sustainable food to families in need. Havergal supports the NYHFB through food drives throughout the year (e.g. Harvest Festival and We Scare Hunger in October). Round Square Havergal College is a Round Square Global Member school. As a Global Member, we send Havergal Round Square Delegates to regional conferences within North America (for example, Ashbury College in 2023 and Calgary French & International School in 2024). As well, we send Senior School Havergal Delegates to the annual Round Square International Conference, which were recently hosted in Nairobi, Kenya in 2023, and in Bogota, Colombia in 2024.
