Global Experience Program (GEP)
The Global Experience Program (GEP) is designed to prepare students for success in an increasingly interconnected world. Through partnerships with local organizations and global experiences, we provide students with opportunities to engage in reciprocal connections that foster cultural understanding, empathy and collaboration. By participating in our programs, students develop the essential global competencies outlined earlier in real and engaging ways. We aim to provide reflection spaces for students both before and after experiences so that these competencies are deepened and strengthened throughout all of their experiences. Our goal is not only to enrich students' academic learning, but also to empower them to become responsible global citizens who are equipped to address complex challenges and make meaningful contributions to our interconnected world. Local Partnerships Middle School and Senior School students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of local partnerships across Toronto, each with a different focus. Using visual art as a vehicle to foster creativity, Havergal students design, facilitate and work with local students and professional artists on shared art projects. They use these projects to bring awareness, build community and develop understanding. Grenoble Public School: Homework Club, Flemingdon Park (Weekly) Havergal students participate in partnership with Grenoble Public School to assist their primary school buddies with homework. This is a long-standing partnership focused on teaching and learning together, while building bridges of understanding of lived experiences and needs.
