Havergal Terminology

A-Mazing Race Junior School students and their parents participate within their House in a series of challenges designed to be inclusive of all ages. The A-Mazing Race is followed by a party with amazing food andmusic. Art, Design and Technology Wing Located in the new building in the Upper School (opened in 2021), the Art, Design and Technology Wing is a space in the school where our Art and Technology classrooms are located, including the HC-X office space. BioWall (in honour of the Havergal Old Girls Association) A living wall located in the Student Commons in the Art, Design and Technology Wing that helps to provide fresh air by removing carbon dioxide and absorbing and cleaning other pollutants in the air. Boarding School The Boarding School is a residence for approximately 50 Havergal students (Grades 9 to 12) representing countries all over the globe. Fully integrated in the life of the school and with the Day School students, Boarding students participate in programming with an emphasis on self-care, physical pursuit and life skills. Boarding School Office (BSO) The BSO is the administrative centre of the Boarding School, where students sign in and out after school hours. All visitors to the Boarding School must check in with the BSO upon arrival. Boarding Staff Boarding Staff members live in the Boarding School and are responsible for the custodial care of our Boarding students. Boarding staff are also responsible for an advisory group of up to nine Boarding students. They support Day School programs including supporting the Extra Time Room and various co-curricular activities. Brenda Robson Hall (BRH) Brenda Robson Hall is the assembly hall located off the Rotunda in the Upper School. It was named in 2005 in honour of Brenda Robson, who retired after 42 years of teaching at Havergal. The hall has been used as a gymnasium, chapel and gathering space for the community from the time the present building was opened in 1926.
