The age of majority is the age when students are legally considered to be an adult, which in Ontario is 18 years. Age of majority students are not required to get permission from a parent/guardian when they are away from school and may take responsibility for their own attendance patterns. However, if an age of majority student demonstrates a pattern of absences, the student may be asked to meet with the Head of the Senior School. The school may also notify parents/guardians of any concerning or worrisome attendance patterns that emerge.
