SECURITY

During School Hours Access (Monday to Friday: 7 am to 6 pm) Upper School students enter the building by using their school-issued security swipe card. They are required to enter through their grade-assigned doors. Students are NOT permitted to enter the school through the main Rotunda doors from 7 am to 4 pm. After School Hours Access (Monday to Friday: 6 pm to 7 am, Weekends and Holidays) Those visiting the Upper School after hours — including Faculty, Staff, students and guests — must sign in and out at the main Security Desk. While school is in session, an announcement is made at 6 pm directing all Day students to sign in with Security and indicate what public area they are using: Rotunda, Cafeteria or Temerty Commons. Day students are expected to comply with this request. School sanctioned athletic events are regularly scheduled to occur after hours. The doors between the Athletic Centre and the Upper School are locked daily at 4 pm. Faculty, Staff and students must use their card to access the doors between the Athletic Centre and the Upper School after 4 pm. Guests watching athletic games must enter the Upper School through the doors leading into the Athletic wing adjacent to the South Quad. On weekends and after hours, access is limited to the Main Entrance of the school at 1451 Avenue Rd. This entrance is monitored by Security personnel and surveillance cameras 24 hours per day. Should the door be locked, students and visitors must wait until the Security Officer returns from his/her rounds. All other doors will be secured. All students are expected to sign in and out with Security during the weekend—no matter how brief their visit may be.

On evenings and days when special events are scheduled, access will be extended to facilitate the event and Security will be monitored by staff presence.

Student Drivers and Passengers

The College has specific requirements regarding student drivers and passengers. For each excursion College Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk Forms are used to outline school sanctioned events while allowing parents to provide permission for a given activity.

If the transportation is provided by the College—students are not permitted to drive themselves or fellow students to school-sanctioned events without the expressed written consent of all parents.
