General Appearance Wearing the school uniform well and with pride signals to our community that we are learning community that values integrity, inquiry, compassion and courage. What follows are guidelines about our student’s general appearance that stand in relation to grade- and school-specific school uniform expectations. In these matters, we expect the cooperation and support of parents. A. Jewellery and Make-Up ​ : Jewellery and make-up should be subtle. Nail polish is permitted. A small stud or small ring may be worn in the nose, and studs, small hoops (the size of a quarter) or small drop earrings may be worn in the ears. Other skin piercings (eyebrows, lip, tops of ears, etc.) should not be visible. A student is not permitted to wear chokers, multiple necklaces or multiple bracelets. B. Hair Colour and Hair Accessories: ​ Hair colour should approximate natural colour. Hair accessories should be subtle in size and colour. C. Kilts and Tunics: ​ Kilts and tunics must not be shorter than 9 cm above the knee with the waistband positioned on the student’s natural waist. D. Black Pants ​ : Students can purchase black pants from the Green & Gold, which may be worn on #1 Dress days. E. Shoes: ​ Black lace-up Oxford-style shoes must be worn correctly at all times, with feet completely inside the shoe back and laces intact and tied. No canvas or athletic-looking shoes are allowed, nor are boots, boot-like shoes, ballet slippers or shoes with raised heels.
