Agreement by a parent means: 1. Parents certify that their child is in good health and physically fit and has not been advised by a physician not to participate in physical activity of this nature. The parent knows of no physical, medical, emotional or psychological reason why his / her child is not would be at a high risk of injury resulting from the use of the equipment in the Fitness Room. 2. Parents acknowledge that the staff members of Havergal College are available to more fully explain the nature and demands of the Fitness Room equipment use and the inherent risks, hazards and dangers associated with it. 3. Parents understand that although Havergal College has taken precautions to provide appropriate rules, security and monitoring of the Fitness Room in order to either eliminate or reduce the potential for injury, circumstances may arise which are not foreseeable or which are beyond the control of Havergal College. 4. Parents acknowledge that Havergal College cannot guarantee absolute safety. Parents also understand that their children are, in part, responsible for their own safety and that they must comply with the instructions and directions of Havergal College and other staff members when using equipment in the Fitness Room, act prudently and carefully and obey the Fitness Room rules. 5. Parents understand, acknowledge and assume the potential risks and responsibilities involved in his / her daughter’s use of the Fitness Room and the equipment contained.

Agreement by a Grade 9 to 12 student means:

1. The student will demonstrate a safe and responsible attitude when using the equipment and space in the Fitness Room. 2. The student will obey the Fitness Room rules. 3. The student will speak up if she experiences, witnesses or learns of unsafe equipment and / or behaviour in the Fitness Room.
