Please note the following guidelines: ● this service is available to Upper School Students; ● there is no charge for students who use this service; ● parent permission must be provided for students to use this service; ● the therapists provide neuromusculoskeletal injury assessment and treatment, concussion management, exercise prescription and rehabilitation education services; ● the physiotherapist keeps confidential clinical notes that document a student’s treatment; ● students can book 15 minute appointments; ● students should have a treatment during a break or spare. If the matter is urgent, students should obtain the teacher’s permission first to enable them to miss a class; ● students may not miss an assessment under any circumstance; and ● if a student misses an appointment without first contacting the therapist, she will receive a written warning. Subsequent missed appointments will result in the loss of a student’s privilege to make use of this service.

Fitness Room

Use of the equipment without teacher supervision is strictly limited to those who meet ALL of the following conditions.

Students must:

1. be in Grade 9 or above; 2. agree to the Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk form at enrolment and re-enrolment online; 3. successfully complete a training program (in Physical Education or through arrangement with Health and Physical Education Department) on the equipment; 4. wear an appropriate Havergal Physical Education uniform (running shoes, shorts, t-shirt); 5. have a buddy in the room at all times; 6. not admit (or make use of) a personal trainer in the Fitness Room; 7. not sign guests into the Fitness Room; 8. follow sign in / sign out procedures in the Fitness Room binder; 9. use the equipment in the way in which it was intended and within the limits of your ability; 10. use a spotter when barbells are part of the exercise regimen; and 11. leave the Fitness Room in readiness for other users, including wiping off the equipment.

Misuse of the Fitness Room will result in loss of privileges.
