Junior School Routines

Daily Attendance   Your children’s safe arrival to school each day is something that we take very seriously. We ask for  your help in ensuring that the process is efficient and safe. If your daughter is absent or late for any  reason, the parent(s)/guardian(s) must contact the Junior School immediately and report the  reason for the absence. Please call: (416) 483‑3843 ext. 6510 or email   jsoffice@havergal.on.ca .

If the school is not informed about the absence, the school will make attempts to contact the  parent(s)/guardian(s) through phone and/or email.

If we are unable to connect with the parent(s)/guardian(s) to determine the reason for the  absence, an administrator will be informed and will decide what further action to take. If none of  the contacts can be reached and the school cannot be satisfied as to the child's safety, a decision to  take further action, including calling the police, rests with the Head of Junior School or Principal.   Please verify that all your contact information in Veracross is up to date and correct. Include any/all  people who should be contacted in case of an unexplained absence (grandparents, aunts, uncles,  nannies, etc). Verify that your work/office contact information is up to date.   Please note as well that your daughter’s regular attendance at school is critical to her academic and  social success. Consistently missing time throughout the day, including arriving late and leaving  early, can affects a student’s ability to thrive. Should a pattern emerge, parents will be contacted.   Prayers: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays  The Junior School community (faculty and students) gathers together three times weekly for  Prayers from 8:30 to 9 am. This is a time dedicated to spiritual and ethical development, which  makes for a healthy and integrated child. Parents are always warmly welcomed! We purposefully  engage in inter‑faith learning as we teach and celebrate the major religious festivals of other faiths  while remaining firmly rooted in Anglican practice and tradition.
