School Rules

Havergal students will:  1. abide by the Havergal Code of Conduct & Acceptable Use of Technology Policy;  2. attend all classes, study periods, grade, Form / TA meetings, Prayers and assemblies on time;  2. wear the school uniform correctly at all times;   3. not smoke while on school property, at a school sanctioned function or while wearing the  school uniform;  4. not have any liquor in any form or illegal drugs on the school grounds and buildings at any  time;  5. respect that the Grad Common Room is to be used by only Grade 12 students;   6. meet friends/guests at the school in the Rotunda;  7. use personal entertainment devices in a manner that is non‑disruptive to the culture and  learning environment of the school;  8. use cellphones or smartphones in a manner that is non‑disruptive to the culture and learning  environment of the school and abide by the person device‑free policy;  9. not take digital photographs, videos or audio recordings of people without their consent; and  10. not publish, forward or distribute images, video or audio recordings of people on any social  network or website without their expressed permission.  Students in the Upper School take ownership for their learning and, as such, assume the following  responsibilities:  1. checking Veracross (VC) course web pages and school email on a daily basis;  2. using school email to communicate with their teachers, not personal email;  3. meeting teacher‑established deadlines;  4. submitting their own original work in the manner required by each teacher;  5. reaching out to teachers in advance when they expect to be absent for a short or extended  period of time;   6. making up missed class material if absent; and  7. meeting all assessment deadlines.  Upper School Student Responsibilities
