Family Handbook 2018-19

Student Agenda 

A school‑issued student agenda is distributed to students during the opening week of school. It  contains information about school rules, routines, the school calendar, responsibilities and  traditions, plus lists of the year’s student officers and the school’s many clubs. The student agenda  helps new students quickly feel at home and serves as a resource for returning students. A copy of  the Havergal College pages of the Student Agenda are available online (log in to the Parent Portal  at:   community.havergal.on.ca ). 

Survivor 

A graduating student who has attended Havergal continuously since Grade 1 or earlier is known as  a Havergal Survivor. 

Temerty Commons 

A meeting place and common area, Temerty Commons is located in the Upper School by the  Hawkins Dining Room and opens to the Labatt Quad. Students use it at lunch and for quiet study. It  is also used in the evening for school events and receptions. 

Welcome Committee – Junior School 

The Welcome Committee is a group of Junior School parents who serve as ambassadors for the  school along with members of the Admissions team. These parents lead prospective families on  tours of the Junior School and assist with both Admissions and new family events. 

Welcome Committee – Upper School 

The Havergal Welcome Committee is an active volunteer group of Havergal students in Grades 11  and 12 who take prospective students on tours of the school, greet special guests, speak about the  Havergal experience and the school community and serve as ambassadors at school functions.
