General Appearance We recognize that Havergal students have unique aspira ons and goals, which the school supports through curricular and co‐curricular pursuits. But wearing the school uniform well and with pride signals to our community that we are learning community that values integrity, inquiry, compassion and courage. What follows are guidelines about our student’s general appearance that stand in rela on to grade‐ and school‐specific school uniform expecta ons. A. Jewellery and Make‐Up – Only small stud or ring earrings may be worn in the ears. One small stud may be worn in the nose. All other jewellery, including skin piercings, should not be visible. Make‐up should be subtle. B. Hair Accessories – If worn, must be solid in colour: green, gold, white, black, tan or brown. C. Hair Colour – Should approximate natural colour: no shaved or par ally shaved heads. D. Nail Polish – Nails should appear natural in colour. Students should be able to remove inappropriate nail colour immediately upon request. E. Kilt – Kilts must be hemmed to 9 cm above the knee with the waistband posi oned on the student’s natural waist. F. Shoes – Black lace‐up Oxford‐style shoes must be worn correctly at all mes, with feet completely inside the shoe back and laces intact and ed. Non‐leather shoes are acceptable, however, they must appear like Oxfords. No canvas or other athle c‐looking
