Family Handbook 2017-18

Form  (Grade 7–8)  A Form  is a group of Middle School  students  in  the  same grade who meet with  their designated  Form Teacher on a  regular basis. There are eight Forms per grade. 

The Gallery  The Gallery  refers  to  the upper  sea ng area of Brenda Robson Hall. 

The Grad Common Room  The Grad Common Room  is  located on  the A  Level of  the Upper School and  is a  retreat and  locker  room  for  students  in  the Grade 12. 

Grade Rep  A parent  volunteer, a Grade Rep  is a  liaison between parents of  students  in  their daughter’s  year  and  the  school. Grade Reps are under  the umbrella of  the Havergal College Parent Associa on  (HCPA). Havergal Achievement Awards  The Havergal Achievement Awards program offers a balanced program of  co‐curricular ac vi es  for  students  in Grades 7 and 8 under  the age of 14. Similar  to  the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award  program,  there are  three  types of awards  that  increase  in difficulty:  the  Ivy Award  (Grade 7),  the  Marguerite Award and  the Torch Award  (Grade 8).   Hawkins Dining Room  The Hawkins Dining Room  is  located  in  the Upper School and provides an array of healthy  food  choices  for all  students,  faculty and  staff  to enjoy  in a welcoming and  friendly dining atmosphere.  Other offerings  include: a deli bar,  rice and homemade  soup  sta ons, a  salad bar with mul ple  selec ons, baked goods and beverages  including  soy and  lactose‐free milk. The dining  room  is  open  from Monday  to Friday and healthy  food  items  can be purchased by  students with  their  security  swipe  card. Students must  show  their  swipe  card  for all  transac ons.
