CLASS OF 1960 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REPS: Patricia (Pat) Weller Bent, Marsha Davis Brooks, Rosemary Elder Dick and Cynthia (Cyndy) Thomas Smith A few of you are still in the workforce including Lynda (Fitz) Keyfitz Rapp , who plans to keep decorating as long as she is getting calls. Karen Taylor Alvarez runs a busy travel agency with her son in Mexico; Su Russell is a registered clinical counsellor, but is slowly easing away from work towards more leisure time. Intrigued with the Chronicle theme – Rebels and Reformers – Su states that she is a “Reformed Conservative and Rebel against ageism.” Way to go, Su! Jennifer Weatherstone Neal is living in Oakville, where she still has her Amway business. Her son Dylan performed in the Murdoch Mysteries Christmas special as the lead’s half-brother. Once again, Jennifer is a provincial election clerk in Oakville this year. Sheila Milne Leach recently retired from her medical practice and now spends weekends at her new home on the French River. Judy Farwell Shi is an active artist and belongs to the Richmond Hill Garden and Horticultural Society, for which her main contribution is event photography. Jill Gould Tierney gave up her home greeting business this year. She plans on travelling to visit family in New York, Maine and Massachusetts. Marta Retchnitzer Tooke visited with Sandy Olver Baker this summer. Marta also spent time on Gasparillo Island in November with Sue Cantley Irvin and Mary Jean Borden Potter 1959. Mary Krug

Ndlovu is retired in Calgary, where she joined a writing group through which she will start her memoirs. Nancy Vokes MacLennan enjoyed two cruises this year, one from Singapore to Hong Kong, the second to Bangkok. Pat Waterouse Margetts moved to Brantford, giving up country life for urban living where she is enjoying her bridge group. Jane Allport Mottershead , a 23-year volunteer with a local woman’s shelter in Pembroke, helps with baking, gardening, Christmas decorating and public relations at community events. Sue Woods is enjoying married life in Barrie. Taddy Matthews Cork lives in Schomberg and is still riding – loving her horses and cats. Cathy White Loubser lives in Amsterdam and London. Having sold her African wine farm, Cathy is involved with the development of outstanding artists, ballet dancers, pianists, opera conductors and theatre directors who come from all over the world to train in London. Mary Risley passed through Amsterdam this year to visit Cathy. Ann Griffin McCall is having three art exhibits this year featuring Quebec wildlife from the region of her farm in Mirabelle, Quebec. Joan Kingsmill Roper reported extensive damage on St Simons this year as a result of hurricanes, a tornado and an ice storm. Ann Taylor Collombin cruised around South America with her husband, plus took a trip down the Douro River in Portugal and Spain. We will soon be planning our 60th Reunion in 2020. Yes, 60th. Can you believe it?!

CLASS OF 1961 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REPS: Susan Ortved Armitage, Elizabeth (Betsy) Bell Perkin and Jill Cumberland Trennum The theme Rebels and Reformers brings a smile as we relive remembrances of school days. Joey Legate , Janet Little Finlay and Judy Slater Finch recalled enjoying a smoke after school sitting on an old car tire in the sewer. Seeing others approaching, they’d hide the “glow” and not get caught! Pat Hutchison Taylor , Lynn Robinette Mekinda and Judy Slater Finch ’s room led to a flat roof,

perfect for smoking and suntanning! Our smokers were thrilled to be the first Grade 13 class permitted to smoke in the common room, but only on Tuesdays from 9:00-10:00 p.m. Sally Andrews led occasional midnight kitchen raids with secret companions, never getting caught! Boarders enjoyed dropping water bombs from the south tower window onto the heads of unsuspecting day students below. Jocelyn Symons Scott remembers hearing horrified shrieks from Miss Steele who, having popped her
