CLASS OF 1958 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REP: Diane (Di) Hume Ward We lost Ingrid Rogers Brookman just before Christmas last year. She had been living in California with her husband and family. We are busy planning our 60th Reunion and hope to have many attend our fun weekend. Cynthia (Tinks) Thun Willauer has spent time with Chip and her family and is planning to join us. Tinks keeps busy with many activities, including family and her ministry work. Evelyn (Lyn) Hamilton Zacher travelled with her family; they live in four different time zones. She continues to work at the Christian Science book room. She spent Christmas in San Francisco and the family took a trip to Alaska. Judith (Jude) Musgrave Burgess lost her Mom in November…Mrs. Musgrave was 106 years old! Jude had been here earlier to help her son John and his wife with their family. Their daughter Kat was diagnosed with bone cancer and is having treatments. She spoke at Mrs. Musgrave’s funeral. Dorothy (Dot) Pointing Keenleyside was also in attendance; it was a treat to see her. Kat had surgery in December and is doing nicely. Jude returned to help them in January. Bev Crowder Hendershot has been having a difficult time with Terry’s health problems. Elizabeth (Liz) Squires Howse has spinal stenosis in the lumbar region, making walking any distance difficult. She is hoping to attend, as is Fran Harley Urtasun who took a trip to Hawaii. Fran also went to Spain with her husband and decided to try her Spanish. She found it difficult! She has retired from practising medicine, but is still active in various endeavours. Sandy Seed Hammersmark is planning a trip to Norway and took part in the Women’s March. We are hoping that she can get to the reunion. Frances Ruttan continues to make beautiful quilts. Judy Kinsey Falusi, Ann Tottenham, Sylvia Swinden Milne and Di Hume

Ward continue to have lunches. Old friends are so important. Pat Lawson Jones has been caring for her husband through chemo. His last visit showed that he is clear. Liz Blunt Poarch is in the process of moving to Revelstoke, B.C. to escape Charlotte, South Carolina. The special needs trailer that Di Hume Ward invented has been made and will attend festivals and fairs around the region to enable those in wheelchairs to be lifted from the chair to use a change table or a toilet. It took almost a year to raise the $150,000. Now they need to build more. The family has found a walking partner for Jane Ann Hart , so now she can go out and take those walks that she loves. She can no longer use her iPad, so her daughter Melanie keeps in touch. Susanna Barker Evans divides her time between Barrie, Ontario and Mexico. She will miss our reunion, as she plans to be in Calgary visiting her son.
