GAY SELLERS KROEGER 1952 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REPS: Joan Rudolf McKinney, Susan (Sue) Watson Nelson and Sally Garratt Vernon For our Celebration Saturday, we gathered at Judy Ratcliffe ’s home where we enjoyed lunch and the beautiful autumn weather. Present were Sue Watson Nelson, Joan RudolphMcKinney, Gail Worth, Mary Deacon Kent, Lee Kilbourn Lockwood, Heather McNeil and Julie Fortin Gray . Later that afternoon, several of our classmates went to the cocktail party at the school and were photographed for the archives. Later on, we learned that Judy Ratcliffe and Brenda Robson’s favourite dwelling is their cottage. So for city usage, they have sold their house on Dawlish and have bought at Yonge and Glengrove, within walking distance of Havergal! Last year, Joan Rudolph McKinney and Jim joined a group that travelled to Portugal. They went from Lisbon to Porto by rail and visited Salamanca and Toledo in Spain. The latter, which is very high in the Spanish mountains, is climbed by using eight escalators to reach the spectacular view at the top. Then they boarded a river boat and travelled from Oporto to Madrid. They passed hundreds of miles of grapevines and learned a great deal about the history and production of port wine. Gail Worth and Nancy Reid Jackson live in Collingwood and attend a spiritual book club. Nancy started a painting group in Clarksburg while Gail, still an avid birdwatcher, recently took her son to Fogo Island in Newfoundland. Pat Eckardt Sedgwick ’s daughters filled their house with music, special tea party goodies and friends who surrounded Pat for a special birthday. Mary Deacon Kent continues to play bridge at the various venues currently being used while the B & R Club is being repaired after its frightful fire. Sue Watson Nelson is in the throes of a move and will settle in the Don Mills area. Julie Fortin

Gray is still very involved in the real estate world and plans to be there for a long time! Sally Garrett Vernon had the good sense to head to Naples, Florida. Julie went to visit Shirley Millar and they had lunch with Sally. Anita Cran Corrigan has settled in Claremont Retirement Home, where there are some other Old Girls. Isabel Brazill Paterson-Smyth lives comfortably at Belmont and plans to continue doing so for a LONG TIME! Susan Dearberg Boone lives in London, Ontario, where she is a well-known portrait artist. Suzanne Lamport Sievenpiper said that the winter is a wonderful time to be with her family and grandchildren. I ( Joan Rudolf McKinney ) will be watching the club races at Craigleith Ski Club; there are Havergal students among them. Thank you for your donations this year to the Gay Sellers Kroeger Bursary! Let’s continue to make our annual contributes, which goes to a girl who would not otherwise be able to attend Havergal College.
