Junior School parents Patrick and Fernanda Dovigi are donating $3 million to the Limitless Campaign .

The family has been involved in many other philanthropic initiatives over the years, recently giving $5 million to Sinai Health Foundation to open the Dovigi Family Sports Medicine Clinic. They have also donated to Camp Oochigeas, Edmonton’s Adeara Recovery Centre, Sunnybrook Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, We Love You Connie Foundation, as well as the National Ballet of Canada and Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre. GFL’s Full Circle Project also gives back to small local charities in the communities it serves across Canada and in 20 American states. At Sterling Hall, which their eldest son Jordan attends, the Dovigis made a large in-kind donation to the school’s capital campaign, providing waste-removal services during construction.

Patrick—a talented former hockey goalie and one-time NHL draft pick for the Edmonton Oilers—has been successful in business from a young age and deepened his involvement in philanthropy when he began to see the benefits of giving back early on. As Savannah and her siblings grow up, and as the Havergal community grows and changes, Patrick and Fernanda want to instil the value of lifelong giving. “When we do it young enough, the more we can see the impact over time, the more we can teach our kids that giving is a good thing,” he says. “We want them to know that we’re fortunate enough to give back, and that they should be proud of it.”
