Reunion News

Hundreds of Old Girls returned to Havergal to reconnect with their former classmates, teachers and the Havergal community at this year’s Reunion Weekend festivities on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30. We were delighted to welcome back our graduating classes ending in 3 and 8. We were fortunate to have sunshine as the weekend kicked off early on Saturday morning. Celebration Saturday is a wonderful annual tradition with the goal of helping our broader community. Proceeds for the event support our community partnerships and, each year students work together to determine the areas of need for each partnership. Thank you to the many other Old Girls who kindly volunteered their time this year. We could not have done it without you! On Saturday evening, the Reunion Years Cocktail Party brought together more than 300 Old Girls from graduating classes ending in 3 and 8. The excitement was tangible as we watched our alumnae take a trip back in time, when they walked through Havergal hallways once again and viewed some of their old school photos on display around the Brenda Robson Hall (thanks to Debra Latcham, Archivist, for putting this together). There was a Boarding School open house for Old Girls to visit their old dorms. Later, classes went off-campus to their own special celebrations, which were hosted in a variety of homes and restaurants around the city. The celebrations continued early on Sunday morning with the Old Girls Chapel Service. Special remembrances were shared and a delightful speech was given by our Boarding School Prefect, who spoke about life at Havergal today. After the service, members of the class of 1968 made their way to the Ellen Knox for their 50th reunion luncheon. Congratulations to our newest Cinquantenaires! We hope that you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. Classes ending in 4 and 9 will celebrate their reunions next year. Look out for more details in summer 2019. Celebration Weekend 2018
