Day 9 offers students in all grades the opportunity to immerse themselves in experiences that deepen and extend their learning.

Havergal exploring how mindfulness and resilience are biologically connected; and more. Across the school, students and faculty alike are buzzing with the opportunities that Day 9 presents now and in the future. The way that our community has taken up this initiative has been a true reflection of our values of courage and inquiry. With our first two Day 9s behind us, we know that these experiences will continue to be organic in nature, providing opportunities for our faculty and students to follow their passions, engage in the community and explore new perspectives. These events also show how we are a learning organization in the way that we collaborate with nature and are iterative in our thinking. It is our hope this year that students and faculty will continue to design opportunities that push us to challenge our thinking, get outside of our known understanding of our world and motivate us to make a difference.

workshops with students that meets their age and stage to help them hone in on passion projects that they will continue to work on throughout the school year. This is the launching pad for a personalized, passion-based project. In the future, we will build on these personal projects by offering many different experiences that girls will choose from to accelerate their learning, including trips to the Aga Khan Museum to take part in interdisciplinary learning. For our Exploring the Brink of the Known strand, our Grade 9 to 12 students have selected from more than 15 different opportunities that have been created by faculty and, in some cases, students. These experiences range from Circus Camp to Entrepreneurship 101; from taking a deep dive into the Holocaust at the Simon Wiesenthal Center to working on Indigenous Allyship at the Centre for Social Innovation with Indigenous community partners; from a writer’s retreat at the Evergreen Brick Works to a wellness retreat at
