Havergal’s Culture of Philanthropy

It has been our privilege to serve Havergal College during the fiscal year 2011-2012 as Chair of the Havergal College Board of Governors and Chair of The Havergal College Foundation. These volunteer roles are important ways for us to assist in the stewardship of this outstanding educational institution as well as to demonstrate to our own children the importance of giving back. By definition, philanthropy is a “love of mankind” and speaks to the many ways we can express engagement in life by giving our time and resources to causes and things we respect and appreciate. As you know, giving back to Havergal by volunteering, mentoring and donating are not only long-standing pillars of our community philosophy, but also important strategic components of our culture of capability. As giving is a significant component of philanthropy, it is especially appropriate to take this opportunity to offer our sincere gratitude to the many generous donors who gave to the school this past year. Several of you chose to make a major gift and, for this, we are grateful. Giving and participating at any level is the most important action for all of us. We hope that you will continue to make Havergal one of your family’s charitable priorities in the years to come and we thank you for your many contributions toward Havergal’s culture of philanthropy. With your ongoing support, Havergal will continue to flourish and grow.
