October 2020 The first event was a Q&A session with Dr. Eileen de Villa 1987, our 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, moderated by Dr. Michele Farrugia 1986. They discussed questions about COVID-19, de Villa’s time at Havergal and how she landed the role as Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto. mindfulness and resilience at a HOGA Career and Education Committee virtual breakfast event with Professional Certified Coach Maggie DiStasi 1991. Attendees learned mindfulness techniques as a way to put thought and attention into the areas that need it and to make decisions based on values instead of emotions. December 2020 Old Girl Anne Matthews 2003, our 2020 Dr. Susan Ditchburn Young Alumna Award recipient, reviewed reproductive wellbeing from the teen years into adulthood and how they are connected. Fellow 2003 graduate Jessica Zive was the event’s moderator. January 2021 Taylor Stocks 2007, a trans educator and activist, discussed the realities and implications of trans identities within single-sex schools. They have been working as a gender equity consultant for seven years and are currently completing their PhD in education.
