Reflections of Havergal: 1994-2019

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Watchman of HavergaI Ludemus, 1904

You watchman lean of Havergal Who pace our well-loved Hall, Whose lamp has shone a thousand nights¬- Well, ever since last Fall, Your glimmering lantern light again For many another round, And creep by those who sleep

That glimmering light of Havergal For us will always burn, Till the term’s troubled nights depart And holidays return. So then, O lean night watchman,

My lines shall here be found To the praise of your name

While the creaking boards resound, While the night is waning bit by bit, And the creaking boards resound.

When the boards no more resound. When the night is waning bit by bit, And the board no more resound.

Havergal fears no fire, No mouse, no foe by night, Her trust is in her watchman, Her hope is in his light. The spot where danger threatens He will reach it on his round, As he creeps by those who sleep While the creaking boards resound, While the night is waning bit by bit, And the creaking boards resound.
