Reflections of Havergal: 1994-2019

Athletics Tropies

There are, of course, many intrinsic rewards for those who take part in the school’s athletic activities, but Havergal is also eager to celebrate the contributions of students whose efforts have deeply enriched the program:

The Suzanne Curtis Memorial Trophy Awarded to a graduating student who has been a member of school teams in the current year and who has achieved athletic excellence in many sports, standing above all other athletes in the school. This trophy is to be awarded in years when Havergal has such an outstanding athlete. Grade 6 The Mohan Award This award was established by Dr. and Mrs. Mohan and recognizes a student who has made positive contributions to the Junior School, especially in the area of athletics and good sportsmanship. She demonstrates commitment, dedication and a positive attitude and is supportive of her teammates.

Sportsmanship Cup This is the second highest award for character and leadership in the school. (The Herbert Mason Medal is the highest). It has been presented for over 65 years— since 1939—to the student in the graduating year who has shown the best all-round sportsmanship throughout the year. This means she has worked for the good of sports as a whole in the school. She has been a good winner and a good loser. She has shown good sportsmanship in all levels of competition, and we have been proud to have her as a representative on our school teams. Her qualities also include loyalty, enthusiasm, fairness, leadership, good organizational ability, willingness to give time and determination to do her best.
