Ruthanne Wrobel, a Social Sciences teacher, chose to explore the potential uses of the Enneagram across the curriculum. Both Mr. Tayler and Ms. Wrobel have since retired and, in reflecting on their vocation as teachers, offered the following reflections on the vocation of teaching, which were recorded in late 2017 and early 2018:

As is clear from the list of recipients on the following page, the first chairs have been followed by dedicated teachers who have immersed themselves in a wide range of research. Their findings are impressive for their depth and breadth, and for their implications for the classroom.

In 1998, thanks to a generous donation from parents Michael and Heather Gardiner, the school was able to invite teachers to submit proposals for an exciting professional development opportunity. The Havergal Chair for Teaching and Learning, an endowed gift, allows a deserving teacher to take a leadership role by engaging in and reporting on action research on a topic of particular interest. In its inaugural year, the proposals of two seasoned teachers were accepted, with impressive results.
