Havergal College Course Calendar, 2020-21 Academic Year

Upper School Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement Parent and student compliance and/or consent with this agreement is mandatory. Philosophy and Purpose Havergal College maintains a network established for educational purposes. The School has a dual approach for providing technology for student use: ● School owned desktops, laptops, tablets and audio-visual devices are provided for learners from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and students in some courses requiring specialized equipment and software. ● A ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) approach is in place for students in Grades 7 to 12. This approach requires students to personally select and purchase their own computing devices for use at school. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that parents and students of the Havergal community understand the expectations that govern activity on the school’s network. Using School provided resources and personally owned devices requires agreement with statements that define ‘acceptable use’. Terms of Acceptable Use 1. Your Havergal username and passwords belong to you alone. You are accountable for actions taken/posts made using your username/accounts. You will not use another person’s network account and password. 2. You will carefully consider the authenticity and validity of all requests to provide personal information and satisfy yourself that you know who the sender is before clicking on any provided buttons or links in emails or SMS texts. 3. You will keep your personal electronic device(s) software current, especially operating systems and anti-virus software. 4. You will bring your own device to school and make sure it is charged for classes that require the use of technology (Grade 7 to 12 students only). 5. You will not print excessively without prior permission for particular purposes. The School reserves the right to charge your student account if printing has been excessive. 6. You will not take/use digital photographs, videos or audio recordings of people without their expressed consent. This includes recording of teacher lessons. 7. You will not distribute, share, or publish digital images, video or audio recordings of people by any means including email, social media, social networks or websites without their permission.
