CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES
Dress Code for All “Non-Uniform” COSSOT Events
The standard of dress is smart casual at most events. Information regarding dress will outlined on the permission form for each event.
Middle School COSSOT Events One of the objectives at the Middle School level is to provide opportunities for students to meet and socialize with other students from a variety of schools. The number of students able to attend each event varies and, as a result, each participating school is allotted a predetermined number of spots. All students are encouraged to act as ambassadors and hosts when attending the dance held at Havergal College. Permission Forms All students in Grades 7 and 8 require parental/guardian permission in order to attend a COSSOT event. Permission forms are sent directly to parents and must be completed using Veracross by the deadline stated on the form. Guidelines and Expectations ● Participating schools are predetermined by COSSOT Middle School Coordinators/Middle School Heads. ● Ideally, there are two chaperones accompanying the students from each visiting school. ● Each participating school is allotted a limited number of tickets and each school determines how tickets are sold and/or distributed. ● Tickets will not be distributed prior to attending dances at other schools, but a list of students attending will be at the host school for attendance verification. ● Students who are on the list but not able to attend the dance must inform their school Coordinator/Head prior to the event. Cancellation within 24 hours will incur the cost of the event. ● Each participating school will distribute permission forms with details for the dance in advance. ● Tickets will not be available at the door. Only students from participating schools may purchase tickets, as per each school’s distribution procedure. ● A student may not purchase a ticket for anyone else. ● The list of students who purchased tickets will be at the entrance to the dance and only these students will be allowed to attend the dance. NOTE: We are concerned about your child’s safety — if a student shows up at a dance whose name is not on the list, their parent/guardian will be contacted immediately. If a parent/guardian cannot be reached, the student will go to a supervised room and remain until a parent/guardian can be contacted or the dance ends.
