UPPER SCHOOL
Junior School Office (JSO, JK to Grade 6) The JSO is the administrative centre for all administration needs in the Junior School. It is also where students sign in if they are late or have to leave early for any reason. If parents require any general assistance, they are encouraged to phone or email the JSO. Legacy Theatre in Honour of Havergal Old Girls Association Opened in 1999, the Legacy Theatre is a gift from the Havergal Old Girls Association (HOGA). This multi-purpose lecture hall/theatre seats 220, with retractable seating to provide flexibility for drama, dance and workshops and alternative lighting options for a wide range of performances. Lisa Hardie Woodland Trail This beautiful woodland trail was created in the ravine south of the Junior School by the Hardie family in memory of their daughter, Lisa, Class of 1993. It is the centrepiece of the Burke Brook Stewardship project. Mascot The school’s mascot is the Havergator. Marguerite A graduating student who has attended Havergal continuously since Grade 1 or earlier is known as a Marguerite. Marguerite Daisy The marguerite daisy is the school flower. Music Nights (Upper School) The Upper School holds several performances and concerts throughout the year, including the Band & Strings Night (fall) and two Music Nights (spring). Old Girl/Alum (and Old Boy) A student who attended Havergal for at least one year is referred to as an Old Girl/Alum. There are Old Boys; the last year that boys attended Havergal’s Senior Kindergarten was in 1996. Quads The Upper School is home to two outdoor square areas, including the Labatt Quad, which is completely enclosed and is used as an extension of the Temerty Commons. The South Quad is the garden area on the south side of the Upper School building between the Athletic Centre and Avenue Road.
