General Appearance
Wearing the school uniform well and with pride signals to our community that we are a learning community that values integrity, inquiry, compassion and courage. What follows are guidelines about our student’s general appearance that stand in relation to grade- and school-specific uniform expectations. In these matters, we expect the co-operation and support of parents. Jewelry and Make-Up ● Upper School students may wear subtle jewelry and makeup. ● No makeup is permitted in the Junior School. ● Nail polish is permitted (Junior and Upper Schools). No acrylic or “bio-gels” permitted in the Junior School. ● A small stud or small ring may be worn in the nose and studs, small hoops (the size of a quarter) or small drop earrings may be worn in the ears.
● In the Junior School, wearing multiple bracelets and necklaces is not permitted. ● Other skin piercings (eyebrows, lip, tops of ears, etc.) should not be visible. ● Hair should be a natural colour for Junior School students.
Kilts and Tunics
● Kilts and tunics must not be shorter than 9 cm above the knee with the waistband positioned on the student’s natural waist.
