Family Handbook 2024-25

SECURITY

Havergal does not track or keep records of students who have obtained a driver’s license, nor does the school keep records of those parents who allow their daughters to travel as passengers in cars with other Havergal student drivers.

Student Parking

Students are not permitted to park in any of the school parking lots. The school has limited parking and is not able to provide parking to students. Non-compliance with this expectation may result in disciplinary action.

Swipe Cards

All Upper School students are issued a multipurpose security swipe card with photo ID. Swipe cards issued in previous years are still valid for the current year. All students are responsible for their cards and must have their cards available at all times. Students are to use their swipe card to: ● gain access to the school at their secure grade-designated entrance door; ● borrow books and other materials from the Reta Weston Library Resource Centre; and ● make purchases in the Hawkins Dining Room and the Green & Gold Shop.

Purchases in both the Hawkins Dining Room and the Green & Gold Shop will be accumulated and charged to your child’s account on a monthly basis.

For the protection of all students, any student found using a card not belonging to her will have the card confiscated and returned to an Administrator. Inquiries about lost cards should be made to Security staff at the Security Desk. Students must produce their actual swipe card for purchases. Digital copies of swipe cards (photos, scans) will not be accepted. Replacing Swipe Cards A card that is deemed to be malfunctioning will be replaced at no additional cost. Cards that are damaged by the student or lost will be replaced at a cost of $20. Each time a student receives a new card, their account will be billed. No markings, including drawings or stickers, should appear on the cards. Student photos must be clearly visible and recognizable as the owner of the card.
