GLOSSARY OF HAVERGAL TERMS

Gator Gala (Upper School) Organized by the Havergal College Parent Association (HCPA), this event is held in the Spring Term for students in Grade 7-12 and a significant adult/parent figure in their lives (father, mother, guardian, etc.).

Grade 6 Celebration

At the end of the school year, families and their daughters in Grade 6 attend a special celebration honouring the time students have spent in the Junior School.

Grade Rep A parent volunteer, a Grade Rep is a liaison between parents of students in their daughter’s year and the school. Grade Reps are under the umbrella of the Havergal College Parent Association (HCPA). Graduation Following June examinations, Havergal celebrates the academic achievements of its Grade 12 students at Graduation. Senior Year family members are invited to attend to share in this special occasion. Harvest Festival (Junior School) This service is held each year on the last school day before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Parents are invited to attend this event, held in Brenda Robson Hall in the Upper School. Each girl is asked to bring an offering of non-perishable food, which will be collected and sent to the North York Harvest food bank. Tea and coffee are served for guests immediately following the service. Havergal Ambassador Havergal Ambassadors are students in Grades 11 and 12 who volunteer to work with prospective families as they explore Havergal for their daughters. Ambassadors conduct tours, attend admission and other school events, and represent Havergal at public events.
