Athletics

Havergal’s Athletics program has the breadth to meet the needs of a diverse group of students and  the depth to challenge students in Grades 1 to 12 at all stages of development. There are three  distinct programs including Squads, Squad Teams and Havergal teams. These programs provide a  continuum of development in our youngest to oldest athletes. While not all grade levels will  participate on a team, each stage of the program is designed to support athletics school‑wide. It  also helps students develop self‑confidence, sportsmanship, commitment, perseverance,  cooperation, responsibility, resilience, self‑efficacy and pride in representing the school.

Squads

Squads are available to students in Grades 1 to 3. This non‑competitive athletics program is focused  on developing the FUNdamentals of sport.

Squad Teams

Squad Teams are available to students in Grades 4 to 6. Girls in this program begin training  according to more formalized methods with an emphasis on sports skills. Squad Teams focus on the  sports in which the Junior School participates as a part of the Conference of Independent Schools  Athletic Association (CISAA) while providing additional development and preparation.

Havergal Teams

Havergal Teams are available to students in Grades 5* to 12. Our teams compete in CISAA. Senior  School teams may qualify for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA)  championships. Havergal College fields more than 70 teams over the school year.

*Grade 4 students have the opportunity to participate on both the Cross Country and Track & Field  Teams.
