CLASS OF 1989 ~ 30th Reunion

CLASS OF 1989 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2020

The Class of 1989 celebrated its 30th Reunion last fall.

CLASS REP: Tiffany Park Mason The Class of 1989 had a successful and fun Reunion Weekend in October! Thanks so much to Sarah White for hosting all of us at her beautiful home! We had a great catch up that night, but for those who missed it, here are some highlights. We got to meet Sue Redman ’s handsome son Gibson, who joined us for the party. Tara O’Carroll and Jennifer Shone Tribley came all the way from the U.K. for the reunion. Tanya White and Carol Tan Taylor visited from the U.S. On the whole, the class is enjoying life, with thankfully few surprises, as we approach the big 5-0. Joanne (Jo) Day Berry works at the Alzheimer Society in Peterborough, coordinating a day program for individuals with young-onset dementia. She loves it, as the program is very interesting and needed in the community. Elizabeth Wilson Edge ’s bookkeeping business is booming, and the family is happy.

Another entrepreneur among us, Catharine Heddle continues to operate her communications consulting business, which allows her the flexibility to visit their farm near Belleville and care for the baby fruit trees they planted last year. Zahava Uddin Webster continues to innovate with building hospital command centres, including work in Sao Paulo and Riyadh this past year. Deb Bassett Drysdale writes that things have come full circle as her daughter is now in Grade 5 at Havergal, and she has been able to get involved with the school as a grade rep and volunteer. Kristina Soutar is getting married in September 2020, to Gundars Briedis. This is a fellow who just happened to be downstairs at the bar at the Latvian Centre on the night of Nicole Fisher’s 19th birthday! Kristina’s boys, aged nine and 11, are well, and she is still a partner at Thorsteinssons in Toronto. Nicole Fisher has kept a promise to herself to travel through as many countries as she is old.
