Wood became a Bubbie last July to a baby girl, Rae Millie Wood. She is enjoying her time in her new role. It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mary Katherine Webster ’s passing in Florida. The Class of 1981 will remember her as being fun, genuine, compassionate, and she will be greatly missed. Her daughter Gracie Robinson and her family are in our thoughts. Just a reminder that 2021 is our 40th Reunion year, and we’re looking for ideas and volunteers.

from work so she can enjoy her daughter’s final two years in high school and her son’s visits home from first-year engineering. She devotes time to her community choir, her community projects and her yoga classes. Lisa Thompson Freemantle retired from teaching this past June. She keeps busy singing at local senior’s residences, directing school and community choirs and playing pickleball. Her sons are working in N.Y.C., and her daughter is finishing her third degree. Amy Vanderburgh keeps in touch with Jane Watford and Kara Spence . She was lucky to have had a wonderful visit with Helen Godwin Stanley and Judy Baggaley Savage in Whistler last summer. CLASS OF 1982 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2020

CLASS REPS: Joanne Hyde Gooding and Diane King MacNicol Kate Sharpe lost both her parents six months apart, and on that journey learned how to navigate the MAiD process with her amazing, ground-breaking mum. It taught her that medically-assisted dying is a huge gift for someone close to death. Amanda Tarling loves life in Victoria, whether hiking, snowshoeing, hunting yoga studios or vegan restaurants. Last year, she saw 20 black bears but only one cougar. Her daughter Gemma spent six months at the University of Copenhagen, returned from a trip to China, and has a docent’s job with Parks Canada this summer. Her son Cal had to go into care last year, as his needs and profound disabilities were too overwhelming for him to stay at home. He is a good-natured kid and is doing well. Amanda is a Unitarian Lay Minister and works with the Salt Spring and Victoria congregations. Last year, she officiated at 40 weddings and gave many sermons – work she loves. Annette Buchman-Mincer may be forced into early retirement as she became a grandmother in 2019, with two more on the way. Nancy Lorenzetti lives in Toronto and has two boys in university. She is a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Volunteers at SickKids, doing her bit for the kids and the new hospital project. Jennifer Thoman Woolley has retired. She visited Lindsey McQuat Forden in Princeton and had a wonderful weekend. Jennifer and

Jeanne Desbrisay walk their dogs together. Lindsey McOuat Forden still lives in Princeton, N.J., with her husband Steve and their dog and cat. Her daughters live and work in New York. Her oldest daughter Atleigh became engaged this Christmas and will be married in 2021. Lindsey is the development director at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton. She and Steve play tennis and travel whenever their work schedules permit. Barb Reid Tilka and Bob are still in Florida after 32 years. Both boys are out of college, with one back home. Barb teaches women how money works. Many women face money decisions due to the loss of a spouse through death or divorce or dealing with ageing parents. Barb’s Dad is turning 90 this year and still lives independently, enjoying his busy life in Brockville despite missing her mother terribly – gone two years now. Barb hopes to catch up with Canadian friends when travelling to Canada. In 2016, Audrey Carr was selected to be a federal immigration judge and was appointed in 2018 by the attorney-general of the United States. Audrey serves in the Minnesota Immigration Court, which has jurisdiction over immigration cases in Minnesota, North and South Dakota and western Wisconsin. After living in New York for 12 years, she and her husband Dale now live in Lakeville, Minnesota. Lanny Dawson Thorne went back to school for certification as a health care assistant at Vancouver
