CLASS REPS: Christine Lautenschlaeger Acconcia and Kathryn (Kathy) Thom It has been said that retirement is not the end of the road but the beginning of the open highway, so let’s look at those of you who are finding fulfillment in new areas of interest, having recently retired. Claudine Dumas spends winters in Florida and has developed a passion for gardening when home. Anne Warnica still plays handbells at church and has rediscovered knitting. Judith (Judy) Mitchell Carlton spends time with her granddaughter, walks her dog, reads, gardens and travels. Mary Rusz is preparing a primer on architecture for young design students and enjoys watercolour painting and travel. Pat (Patti) Anderson Emsley travels and keeps us entertained with her adventures on Facebook, and Katherine (Kathy) Thom is filling in some of her newfound time with a new puppy. When she isn’t upcycling furniture, Lisa Nash tutors students in English and is working on perfecting her French; she hopes to travel in France in the future. Back in the working world, Cynthia Caldwell enjoys “glamping,” continues to work with seniors on simple fitness and winter. Their three sons are scattered, giving them lots of opportunities to travel: the youngest works in Toronto, the middle in Fernie, B.C. and the eldest is studying in the U.K. Anne Livingston Murray continues to work out of choice with a national program to reduce stress and anxiety in children and youth and supporting families that have children with disabilities. In the past year, she and her husband became devoted owners of a new Sheltie pup and expanded their family with a daughter-in-law. Anne was planning some hiking this spring in Zion and Bryce while the old body can do so! Gwyn Rew Grant keeps busy with her work managing electronic medical records for three hospitals in the New York suburbs, renovating her house in Greenwich, CT and spoiling her two step-grandsons. She would love to catch up with anyone travelling through the N.Y.C. area. Melody Klassen loves retirement, which gives her time to work on her memoir, play the harp and enjoy her two granddaughters. She looks forward to a fall CLASS OF 1976
