CLASS OF 1985 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2019
CLASS REPS: Gina Ogilvie, Cathy Wright Southey and Louise Stevenson Cathy Catto McKeever has moved into her childhood home. Her daughter Sheena McKeever 2019, who is Boarder Captain, may now have a shorter commute than most day students. Michelle Mehra Shouldice will be inducted into the HC Hall of Distinction this year for her contributions to child health and research and treatment of child abuse. Cathy Milne has expanded her law practice by opening an office in Vancouver. She recently joined Carolyn Hunter Kirkwood on the slopes in Whistler. Gabby Lanzarini Naylor and Carrie Russell and their hubbies had an amazing trip through Italy, enjoying the wine. Mary-Kathleen Delicaet Young is busy with her family, including two girls at HC. Caroline Felstiner is recovering from a recently broken shoulder. Sarah Sharpe Renzoni ’s daughter is on the B.C. ski team, and her husband has just retired. (Are we old enough for that?!) Janis Macdonald ’s daughter is in Grade 9 at HC and Janis continues to enjoy her work as a nurse practitioner; she focuses on youth mental health. Sandra Hooper Heldman ’s son continues to rip it up on the snowboard circuit and attended his second junior world championship… we have a budding Olympian in our midst! Mary Claire Murphy is busy with her family practice and has one son at university and another heading there soon. Elizabeth (Tibby) Richardson McCall is working at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto as a physiotherapist. Kate McCowen Bahen ’s baby turned 18 this year. Kate had a great weekend in Georgian Bay this summer with Nancy Bell and Janet Stephenson , who is adjusting to her empty nest by taking on new teaching and learning roles at Royal St. George’s College. Heather Palmer is a leading national expert on dementia and provides advice on creating healthy environments for individuals with dementia. Sarah Endicott Wellings is busy chasing her three girls and travelling with family. Deanne Maw Counter travels to Canada for the summer and to see her girls at university. She even found her youngest daughter
wearing an HC sweatshirt from the past. Lindsay McDonald Hyland has a new role as the VP and head of human resources at Argo, an insurance company in Bermuda. Both of her girls are in Canada – one at UBC and the other at Lakefield. Elizabeth Kan met up with Robyn Woolsey in London last summer. Catherine Johnston had a wonderful trip with her daughter to Vienna and the Czech Republic. Elizabeth Henry Walford has an exciting role as the head of brand and sponsorship at Great West Life and is busy with her two boys. Courtney Colman lives in Santa Monica and when in Toronto was joined by Maxine (Maxx) Roth Finkelstein, Karen Finley Kelly and Stephanie Phelps and others for dinner. Melissa Ruth lost her dear dog but has added an adorable new puppy to her family. Carol Ann Ruscica has joined Bayview Glen as the executive director of advancement. Cheri Grogan is completing her fifth year as the head of the junior school at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School. Wyatt, 16, is in Grade 10 at Lawrence and Dallas, 20, is in her second year at Queen’s. Holly Furness Allardyce works with MD Financial Management, and her twins are very active in musical theatre. Katie Benson Patten loves life in Thornbury. We all LOVE seeing Susie Osler post from her beautiful farm. Suzanne Gordon continues to work as a director at the Ministry of Education. She is busy skiing, playing badminton and running around with her two children. Out west, Carolyn Hunter Kirkwood is leading her consulting company, working with universities and other large institutions on strategy. Jen Catalano ’s boys are playing baseball and growing up fast! Karen Munro ’s Bowen Island business continues to thrive, and she tries to sail as much as she can! Heather Corcoran ’s oldest son started high school in the Bay Area. Allison Millar Van Gruen is busy with her art career and has several pieces showing in Whistler and West Vancouver. Gina Ogilvie works with UBC, focusing on the elimination of cervical cancer globally. Louise Stevenson is empowering women to take a more active role in their financial futures as an investment advisor at RBC DS and keeping up with her
