CLASS REP: Márta Ecsedi Joan Findley McMaster has been retired for three years, although her husband Graeme is not. They welcomed their second grandson, Austin, in July 2018 in Ottawa – a brother to four-year-old Elliot. They were kept busy as they built a new cottage on Graeme’s family property north of Wiarton. Her three children are scattered across the country in Moose Jaw, Winnipeg and Ottawa, so visiting them involves lots of travelling. Joan and Graeme also took a trip to Belize to get away from the cold. Maxe (Linda) Fisher will retire after 25 years of university teaching and research and looks forward to returning to Yangon, Myanmar as an artist-in-residence and to teach. Maxe is a very proud great-aunt of four grand-nieces and nephews. Nancy Goodwin Berry spent about two months fully covered in mosquito gear and heavy clothing as she built a foundation garden. Adelle and Scott visited her and Andre for Christmas. Nancy is working with local seniors to get federal funding under the New Horizons for Seniors Program. Andre and Nancy are heading to Australia and New Zealand for June and July. Theo Koffler travels between San Francisco and Toronto as she works full-time expanding Mindfulness Without Borders’ youth programs. Theo is passionate about writing and looks forward to publishing her Book of Questions: 88 Questions About Your Life . Her ultimate vision is to have Mindfulness Without Borders’ programs integrated into the Havergal curriculum. Louise Park MacMillan ’s daughters, Ashley and Charlotte, both got married. Louise is living in a very happy city as it won the World Series and the Super Bowl.

After 22 years as the president of the U.S. Havergal College Educational Foundation, she demoted herself to a co-VP. Harriet Peckham Binkley shares with us that Clarissa continues with the San Francisco office of a Canadian engineering firm, which she established a year and a half ago; Andrew has joined Constellation Software; Greg is working at a nearby intellectual property law firm. Glynis Newman and Gary have been busy building their forever home on Vancouver Island. Glynis is considering retiring – she’d like to work part-time; however, unfortunately, there isn’t a veterinary clinic nearby. When she truly retires, she’ll spend time doing pottery, working in her gardens and visiting her grandkids! Márta Ecsedi is staying busy with her volunteer work. John is enjoying his retirement. Laura was promoted to VP operations at Baylis. Jeff still loves teaching even with the challenges that Premier Ford has thrown in teachers’ way. Darren just turned 10, and Ian turned seven on Valentine’s Day. They are very nice boys – and cute! Eric moved out last April with two of his high school buddies. He loves it, and so do I. When he comes once a week for dinner we can actually have a conversation. He just went out west with a friend to go skiing in Jasper and Revelstoke. I want to wish you all the best for 2019!
