Dhabi, ending up in Dubai. Her father was born in Madras (now Chennai), so she is curious to see the city. As for me ( Luba Frastacky ) and my house – words fail me, but I hope to recover by the summer. Peebs has invited me to join her and Mike, after their golden wedding anniversary, at the Royal Henley, then I am to go on to Bratislava where a PhD student will be mounting a major exhibition on my maternal grandfather and the extended Orszagh family. On a sad note, within two weeks of our class dinner, we were shocked to hear of Cheryl Joseph ’s passing. Her daughters gave her a poetic farewell that made us laugh, evoked many memories and brought forth tears. She will be missed.

CLASS REPS: Diane (Di) Davies and Teresa Woods Snelgrove This year, we will celebrate our 55-year Reunion. Plans are underway to have a memorable gathering. Kathy Batten Johnson plays bridge weekly, and she and her partner came second in the Queensland, Australia pairs. She and her husband have moved into a one-level home and are great-grandparents to a baby girl. Janice Coe Parks spent a lot of time in Austin, Texas visiting Olivia, 2, and waiting for her brother Ford to arrive and travel to cottage country around Gravenhurst. Sue Gudernatch Dreyfus spent her summer between Virginia and Boston caring for her grandchild. She celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family in New York City and, on New Year’s Eve, left for three weeks on the Mayan Riviera. She then wintered in Florida, where she has been promoting the art and history of the Florida Highwaymen (a group of African American artists). Mary Glendinning and her husband went to Ethiopia for a heritage conference. They will join Barbara Key and her husband for their annual canoe trip on Lake Kipawa, Quebec. Karen Madsen Pascal heads the Henri Nouwen

Society in Canada and the U.S. and the Henri Nouwen Legacy Trust. She is collaborating with the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New York City to develop a play based on the life of Henri Nouwen. Her oldest granddaughter has been named to Canada’s bouldering and lead climbing team. Teresa Woods Snelgrove volunteers at Georgian College and New Path, a mental health organization for youth. Susan (Sue) Swan has a novel being published in Canada called The Dead Celebrities Club about a Toronto- born man in the financial markets who runs a betting scam in a U.S. prison after being jailed for fraud. Her grandchildren will attend the launch. Anne Zurrer Martin ’s brother died of a hospital- acquired antibiotic-resistant infection following major cardiac surgery. She and her husband took a trip to B.C. and an Alaskan cruise and will take a cycling trip with friends from Germany to Budapest in May. Margot Kay Hillman and her husband went to Germany to visit their youngest daughter and her family and had both daughters and families for a summer visit. They continued their more than 30 years of tradition with the Terry Fox.
