CLASS OF 1986 ~ 30th Reunion

CLASS OF 1986 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

The Class of 1986.

CLASS REPS: Amy Gaskin and Lisa MacLatchy Naprawa Greetings to the Class of 1986. This past year was a big one for many of us celebrating our 50th birthdays and we loved hearing about how you all marked the occasion in both big and small ways. Courtney Carlisle Steeves took a wonderful family trip to Hawaii this past Christmas, where her family of four tried surfing for the first time. They went in honour of her eldest son’s last year of high school, her 20th wedding anniversary and Courtney’s big birthday! Stephanie Hickman celebrated her 50th this year, grateful to be healthy and surrounded by friends and family. She spends a great deal of time commuting between the two islands of Newfoundland and Ireland. And last year, Stephanie became a fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. Lisa MacLatchy Naprawa celebrated her big birthday in Hong Kong and Christmas was celebrated with her family back- country skiing in Revelstoke, B.C. Maureen Campbell

walked the Camino de Santiago across Portugal from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain – an amazing trip that included vineyards and sand dunes, Roman roads, tiny villages and major cities; more than 600 km in 26 days! Congratulations to Lana Ogilvie , who was honoured by Elle Canada as number 5 of 28 Top Canadian Black Women. They even mentioned that she was discovered at her high school fashion show (we know that it was HC!) Way to go, Lana! Though it wasn’t an official Havergal reunion year for us, that didn’t stop many of us from getting together! Michele Farrugia hosted a group of boarders to catch up with Alice Talbot Donohoe , who was travelling from Bermuda, home to New Zealand, via Toronto. Others reported on impromptu lunches with classmates, random run-ins at the grocery store (which turned into hour-long conversations!) and weekend hikes. Another group got together for a lovely dinner at Nina Abdelmessih ’s house.
