CLASS OF 2015 DAVID SUMNER BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

CLASS REPS: Tessa Buchan, Sara Gilchrist and Rachel (Alex) Harrison The Class of 2015 has had an adventurous year, with many girls spending semesters abroad. Erin Caplice is spending the spring semester studying in Prague away from St. Fx, where her sister Mary Caplice 2018 will be joining her in the fall. Erin is learning Czech and travelling to other European countries on the weekends. Camille Archer is also spending the spring semester abroad in the Netherlands, where she too is spending her weekends travelling. Erin and Camille were able to meet up with each other in Ireland one weekend and saw other 2015 Old Girls Karishma Singh and Urvashi Naraine , who attend the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. Among the list of worldly 2015 grads, Hannah Lomax is in the land down under – studying in Perth and soaking up the sun – and Sarah Stewart is in Singapore venturing CLASS REPS: Emily Dotsikas, Julia Mastroianni, Jessica Munk and Jane Yearwood Alexis Karsli is enjoying her time at UBC. She has taken up pole dancing in her free time and she highly recommends it for anyone looking for a confidence boost or a new fitness routine. Alexis is looking forward to returning for a third summer working at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Eliza (Bridget) Schwartz took a gap year after graduating from Havergal to focus on competitive Irish dance. After coming in fifth in Eastern Canada, she qualified for the World Championships in Dublin, Ireland. Bridget trained for and competed at the Worlds and placed 59th in her age group. She finished off her competitive dancing career at the North American Championships in New Orleans, Louisiana…placing 27th. Bridget is now studying liberal arts at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She is involved in the theatre department and played the role of Ismene in an all-female production of Antigone. She is also developing a strong interest in politics and is involved in Skidmore’s club VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood. Sydney Pottow is enjoying her second year at Queen’s CLASS OF 2016

with her close friends from McGill. Steph Ronald spent the fall semester in Madrid and is now back in Canada at Queen’s University, along with Samantha Johnston , Sierra Singh , Genevieve (Gen) Simone and many other 2015 grads.

CLASS OF 2016 GLOBAL EXPERIENCE BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2018

University as a sociology major. She is the executive social media director for a Queen’s club – Women for Professional Growth. Sydney is looking forward to what lies ahead in the next two years at Queen’s. Bay Gerlings has had a stellar second year at Wilfrid Laurier University. She continued her theatre and singing passions by joining Laurier musical theatre in first year and was honoured to be cast as Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie ! She is grateful to Havergal alumni who came to see the show and is excited for more opportunities to be on the stage. Madison Kennedy is enjoying her second year at Western University. She is currently involved in many extracurriculars, including Western’s women’s junior varsity volleyball team and a few intramural teams. Madison is excited to continue working this upcoming summer at CIBC in human resources. Jane Yearwood is enjoying her second year at the University of Toronto as a French-language learning major. This year, Jane is completing a placement as an assistant teacher in a Grade 5 French-immersion classroom in Toronto, and is enjoying this learning experience. Jane looks forward to the summer, when she will be working and taking a course overseas.
